Girls’ Tennis

Considering Poly? We'd love to meet you!

Program Overview

Head Coach Jeff Amurao PTR, USPTA, a former DI player at Georgetown University and current High Performance Tennis Director at CityView Racquet Club in LIC, brings a system-oriented academy mindset to the Poly tennis courts. Placing a strong emphasis on establishing a positive work ethic in order to achieve a disciplined mind and body, Amurao and his assistants understand that the keys to on-court success are sound technical skill acquisition, tactical understanding and application, peak fitness, and a never-quit attitude that carries beyond the courts. In his first full season as the girls’ coach, Coach Amurao led the Poly Prep girls’ varsity team to the brink of a championship, losing 2-3 in the finals to undefeated Hackley. With continued hard work and positive teamwork, Amurao expects his team to continue to have success, to continue to compete for championships, and to build a new tradition of excellence for Poly Prep Girls’ Tennis.
